👥🕊️⚙️ Clones of Evil | Peaceful Life#

Evil does not need everyone to become its servant. It only needs enough people willing to become part of its machinery.
The image of a frightened society made entirely of innocent victims can be comforting. But when destruction continues, another question becomes impossible to avoid: who keeps the machinery moving?
What We See#
On the chalkboard, a ruined city stretches behind a dense crowd.
Buildings are burning. Roads are broken. Smoke fills the sky.
Among the crowd stand white doves — frightened, small, and vulnerable. They represent those who remain passive, silent, afraid, or simply carried along by the system around them.
But the crowd is not made only of doves.
Among them stand taller, almost identical dark figures.
They have harder, more mechanical features. They are stronger than the doves around them. Some carry symbols of machinery, command, or force.
They are the clones of the system.
Above everyone hangs a gigantic shadow.
Its hands extend over the entire crowd, with invisible threads reaching both the frightened doves and the figures who actively serve it.
The difference between them is important.
The doves are controlled.
The clones participate in the control.
And above them all stands the same source of power.
What It Reveals#
A society living under authoritarian control can contain many different forms of participation.
Some people are frightened.
Some remain silent.
Some conform because resistance seems impossible.
And some discover that serving the system gives them power, protection, status, or a sense of belonging.
That is where the passive victim becomes something different.
The system does not survive through one figure at the top alone. It needs hands, voices, signatures, obedience, enforcement, repetition, and people willing to carry its decisions into everyday life.
This does not mean that everyone carries the same responsibility.
A frightened person forced into obedience is not equivalent to someone who actively enforces oppression.
But neither can an entire society be reduced to the comforting image of helpless doves when many of its members willingly become instruments of destruction.
The clones are frightening precisely because they are not the original evil.
They are its multiplication.
Evil becomes powerful when ordinary people stop merely obeying it and begin helping it work.
The greatest danger is not only the monster above the crowd.
It is the moment when the crowd begins to grow smaller monsters of its own.
What We Choose#
A peaceful life does not require pretending that everyone is equally guilty.
It requires the courage to distinguish between fear, conformity, silence, cooperation, and active participation.
We can ask where our own responsibility begins.
What do we repeat because everyone else repeats it?
What do we tolerate because speaking feels dangerous?
What do we actively help because the system rewards us for doing so?
There is a difference between being trapped inside a system and becoming one of its mechanisms.
Recognising that difference is not about hatred.
It is about responsibility.
Silence can protect the individual for a moment; multiplied silence can protect the machinery of destruction for years.
The question is not simply:
“Who controls the system?”
It is also:
“Who keeps it working?”
Social complicity · system clones · collective responsibility · destruction of a country · mechanisms of control
Before: Society appears as one helpless mass beneath the power above it.
After: We see different degrees of fear, conformity, cooperation, and active service within the same system.
Transition: Once participation becomes visible, responsibility can no longer be reduced to the figure standing at the top.
Important distinction: Recognising collective patterns of complicity does not mean declaring every individual equally responsible. Responsibility exists on a spectrum, and the difference between coercion and voluntary service matters.
A system can command from above, but it becomes capable of destroying lives at scale only when enough hands carry its commands forward.
Peace does not begin by pretending that evil has no helpers. It begins by seeing the machinery clearly — including the places where ordinary people become part of it.
