When Evil Runs Out of Resources

🌑🌀✨ When Evil Runs Out of Resources#

No child should have to be brave just to feel safe.

We tend to think that peaceful life begins when war ends, danger disappears, or victory comes.

But perhaps there is another condition: evil must run out of resources.

Resources are not only weapons. They are money, people, fear, obedience, propaganda, the ability to destroy, and the ability to make others participate in destruction.

For a child, peace means something much simpler.

A child does not need to know where to go during an air raid. Does not need to learn the sounds of danger. Does not need to read adults’ faces to understand how serious things are.

A child simply lives.

Plays. Learns. Argues with friends and makes peace. Falls asleep without thinking about what is happening beyond the walls of the room.

Peace is not when evil becomes good.
Peace is when evil no longer has the ability to reach you.

And perhaps true peace begins exactly where a child no longer needs to be brave.

A child is simply allowed to be a child.
